I'm home!!!! I love being home! Being with my family is my absolute favorite thing in the world. It has definitely been a roller coaster of a visit! Well lets start at the beginning, I got here a couple days before Christmas and it was so nice to come in the house and see all the decorations for Christmas. :) Christmas is my favorite holiday and being in Thatcher by myself, i didn't feel like it was Christmas. Soon after finals, all of my roommates left. We had our own little Christmas and got each other gifts and that was a lot of fun! But, the next day all of my roommates left me alone in Thatcher, cus I had to work. That week I was in Thatcher for Christmas, it was absolutely deserted. All the college students were gone for the holidays and i was there alone. Completely terrified!! haha, but when i finally got to head home I was so excited!
Being home for the Christmas season made me realize what Christmas is all about. Family has such a large portion of importance in the holiday season.. oh! and in everyday life to ;) Being here with my siblings, parents, and grandparents has really brought out the holiday spirit of giving and love. Not to mention the stress from finals and paying bills hasn't been on my mind! That alone is one of the greatest blessings ever! So, this year for Christmas eve, i went with the Coopers to there Walker family party. This celebration was full of food, fun, and family. My favorite part of the night was when we all sat down to watch the kids act out the nativity. The younger kids were all given a part to play and with how young all of them were, things were a little rowdy and rambunctious. But, after the scriptures were all read and the silly and fun role playing was over, Papa stood up and told us that Gay (Great Grandma) couldn't make it and she wanted us to know she loved us. He bore his testimony of the Christmas season and of our Savior and the spirit was so strong. I couldn't help but get teary-eyed. I love this amazing family and the joy they brought me this Christmas eve. After this I came home and spent the rest of Christmas Eve with my family. Although we didn't have a huge get together, I felt the spirit as we all sang Christmas songs as a family. Music always brings the spirit in so quickly and there is always music in my home.
Christmas day was a little different considering it was held on a Sunday. All the kids woke me up early and we opened some presents before our sacrament service. :) Santa even brought each of us girls a new outfit to wear to church! That was a lot of fun!! Thanks Santa! ;) My mom spoke in sacrament and she did an amazing job. Her talk was absolutely perfect for Christmas day. One of my favorite parts of this sacrament was that I sat next to my dad. Not only is sitting next to him great but singing hymns right next to him always makes me feel closer to him. We harmonize (or try to at least) and I can always feel the spirit when we do. :) This Christmas was one of my favorites for sure, it was the first one I'v had being out of the house.
Then, New Years Eve! What a party!!!! We had a bunch of people over and it was a blast!!! :) Hailey Cooper is my bestest friend! we partied hard all night and then at midnight she kissed me on the cheek! :O *GASP* haha :) it was fun to be with friends and family in the beginning of the New Year! :)
And last but not least... to end my break off on the not so perfect note... yesterday I GOT MY WISDOM TEETH PULLED!!!! I'm not as wise anymore :/ and not to mention IN PAIN!!! its no fun! Last night I think I threw up twice from all the crazy medication! I think I have a kinda funny video so I'll see if I can figure out how to post that! :) But ya, that's the update for this holiday break! Only a couple more days and I'm headed back to T-Town! OH JOY!!!

December 6th 2011 **Thatcher**

Hey Everyone!
Wow, ha so i should have thought about making this sooner, now I have to explain everything! In August I decided I was going to attend Eastern Arizona College. I left my little Castlegate community and headed out far east to the little town of Thatcher. Leaving my family was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do, but now looking back, I'm so glad I'm here getting my education and learning to live on my own :) I began working in a day spa and salon called Trendz in Safford. Doing hair and nails kept me busy for a while and i enjoyed every second. Until things got rough! When people dont come in, you dont make any money! This became a big problem. If i couldn't find another job, I would have to come home and not be able to complete my year at EAC. I searched and searched for a new job but i couldn't find anything. I prayed so hard to know what I was supposed to be doing. Then one day I got on a job website and found a job to be a nanny that worked perfect with my overload of 23 credit classes for next semester. I called her and went and met her and she hired me! I feel so lucky! Obviously, Tatcher is where I'm supposed to be right now and I cant wait to see what is in store for me here next semester.
Finals are all next week! AHHHHHH!!!! not excited for that :/ but I'm just gunna study my brains out and i should be fine! A lot has been happening, and I cant wait to share everything with everyone!
Your Friend,
Amanda :)
P.S. IT IS FREEZING HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hahaha!!!!! it was 37 degrees last night and i thought i was going to die!!!!! :) good thing i didn't though right??? :)
